Building Up The Body Of Christ

DEACON’S MINISTRY

Acts 6:3-4 “Brothers and sisters, choose seven men from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn this responsibility over to them 4 and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word.”

This ministry assists the Pastor with the spiritual affairs of The Mount such as the family ministry, sick visitation, serving of Holy Communion, and leading the devotion during worship service.

DEACONESS MINISTRY

This ministry contacts all candidates for baptism, assisting in proper dress for baptism, and preparation of the communion table for Holy Communion.

TRUSTEE MINISTRY

This ministry assists the Pastor in the business affairs of The Mount. They are responsible for assisting with building and property maintenance, financial oversight and the supervision of personnel.

ASSOCIATE MINISTERS PULPIT MINISTRY

This ministry assists the Pastor during the worship service by carrying out designated pulpit assignment. All associate ministers work in other ministries.

USHER’S MINISTRY

Psalm 84:10 “For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.”

This ministry assists individuals with seating upon entering the sanctuary for the worship service, and directing the flow of traffic when needed. This ministry also provides special assistance to individuals when the need arises during the worship service.

NURSE’S GUILD MINISTRY

Provides health care during service as well as keeping the church educated on health care issues that relate to our society that include health care seminar, health fairs, and prostate checks. They also have blood pressure checks after 8:00 am and 11:00 worship hours on 2nd and 4th Sunday.

FAMILY MINISTRY

This ministry is dedicated to growing and strengthening the entire family unit (churched and unchurched). Family ministry equips families with opportunities and resources to fulfill God’s plan for the family. (click this link to read the monthly “Family Matters” newsletter.

NEW MEMBER’S ORIENTATION

This ministry is a part of the Sunday School department. This ministry holds sessions to give members the opportunity to become more familiar with the operations of the church and lessons on topics such as Baptist belief, stewardship, discipleship, articles of faith and transition. The purpose is for new members of the Mount to become assimilated as active and vital members of The Mount.

COLLEGE CARE MINISTRY

This ministry provides support to college students as they discover what God has given them to do with their lives. We communicate with current college students throughout the year to assure they maintain a Christian connection. This ministry also send care packages throughout the school year.

MUSIC MINISTRY

Provides enhancement to the worship service through inspirational singing of spiritual music. It is comprised of the Mass Choir, S.C. Nash Choir (Young Adults), Floyd D. Harris Choir (children/youth choir), Voices of Commission (Mission Choir) and Combined Choirs (all choirs).

MEDIA/MARKETING MINISTRY

Psalm 68:11 “The Lord gave the Word: great was the company of those that published it”.

The multi-media ministry serves as an effective tool for reaching potential members in the world by providing messages for those that are not able to attend worship services physically. If your answer is yes, then this ministry is for you. We greet our guests every Sunday morning during the 9:45 AM worship service as they enter the House of the Lord.

TRANSPORTATION MINISTRY

This ministry is designed to provide transportation to those who have a desire to attend services, activities at the church, and church outings.

CULINARY ARTS MINISTRY

This ministry plans, purchases, prepares and serves meals for the entire church family during church celebrations/events.
